We at Labdoo Hub Switzerland are very pleased to be able to support our helpers at Labdoo Hub Spain with used laptops.

The core team at Labdoo Switzerland has been very busy in recent weeks sorting and professionally packing pallets of decommissioned IT equipment. The current COVID-19 regulations imposed by the Federal Council mean that we are currently able to mobilize significantly fewer volunteers to support our activities, which is why the main burden has fallen on the core team.

In total, three fully loaded pallets containing various laptops and spare parts were collected – with a total weight of around one ton!

But how do you get this from Switzerland to Spain, especially during the Corona pandemic?

Quite simply: Planzer Transport AG makes it possible, because they too are enthusiastic about Labdoo's idea!

Planzer picked up the pallets from our logistics center in Oberwil-Lieli and transported them by road to Barcelona, ​​where the load, which also carried other goods, was enthusiastically received by our Spanish friends on the large truck.

We thank Planzer for the great initiative and this fantastic donation of a different kind!

Several companies have contributed to our office inventory. In particular, Google Switzerland and SMA & Partner AG have made significant contributions, enabling us to use tables, chairs, cabinets, and shelves in our Swiss Labdoo headquarters.

Labdoo Hub Zurich creates sustainable order

We at Association Labdoo.org in Switzerland would like to thank WALTHER Faltsysteme GmbH for their extremely generous donation of practical folding boxes for our logistics center in Oberwil-Lieli in the canton of Aargau. This will finally allow us to store our many laptops, power supplies, cables, RAM, hard drives, various spare parts, laptop bags, and much more in a practical way.

Furthermore, we were able to achieve a space saving of around 12% and thus temporarily store even more equipment for children, young people and refugees around the world.

We urgently need the bags to protect our devices before they embark on their long journeys.

On November 20, 2019, for various reasons, we transferred our domain labdoo.ch, including web hosting, to Hostpoint in Rapperswil. It was important to us that the server location be in Switzerland, ensuring that all Swiss Labdoo data is stored on secure servers.

Hostpoint's Business Webhosting package is the most powerful package, which includes a very large storage volume of 500 GB.

On October 28, 2019, Labdoo Switzerland was confirmed by Microsoft as a "Non-Profit Organisation" and included in their sponsorship program.

We can now access non-profit offerings from Microsoft – most notably Microsoft Azure. Microsoft is thus supporting us in selecting secure and trustworthy technologies to protect our data.
